Summary: This vineyard is located on a west facing slope 1 mile South West of the town of Mattawa on the Wahluke Slope. Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah are grown on this site. We sourced some of our 2005, 2006, and 2007 Syrah from this site. The well drained soil allows vine growth to be regulated through irrigation and allows the wine grape grower to encourage flavor development by making vines put their effort into the fruit instead of the shoot.

Soil : This is our most well drained soil. The soil is mainly a coarse loamy sand with areas of blow sand. Soil ranges from 12 inches to 24 inches deep.
Rootstock: all vines are own-rooted
Irrigation: Drip irrigation, water is from the Columbia Basin Project (Columbia River Water)
Vine Crop Management : Vines are planted 6 feet apart with 8 foot rows. Training system is a bilateral cordon with Vertical shoot positioning system.
